At some point in our lives, we've all felt the pressure to conform. Seeking acceptance and yearning to be valued are inherent aspects of human nature, often compelling us to unconsciously emulate others in pursuit of an idealized version of ourselves. Yet, as we observe ourselves through the lens of others, it prompts the question: Is the 'me' we perceive truly reflective of our authentic self? Our existence remains in a constant interplay, mirrored through the perspectives of those around us.

Production Process

I initiated the process by fabricating a specialized jig designed for bending three layers of plywood into the intended shape. The jig itself was crafted by assembling precision-cut pieces of MDF. With, two layers of 1/8” plywood were aligned and bonded with slow-drying wood glue. The layers were then firmly secured in place, undergoing a 24-hour clamping period.

The back support is screwed into the sides of the legs, and lastly, the apron screw through the back into the legs. After the frame is assembled, everything is sanded down to 320 grit, and a layer of neutral finish is applied. Then, the seat and the back support are screwed into place.
